Object of data privacy

The object of data protection is personal data. Pursuant to section 3 section 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act, personal data comprises individual information concerning personal or material circumstances of a certain or undetermined natural person. This includes e.g. information such as name, postal address, e-mail address or phone number, possibly also usage data. Usage data is such data which is necessary to be able to use our website, such as information concerning the beginning, end and scope of the use of our website as well as login data.

Collection and use of your data

Automated data collection

When accessing the websites of pixolus your internet browser will automatically transfer data for technical reasons. The following data is saved separately from other data which you may transfer to us:

  • Date and time of access,
  • Browser type/version,
  • Operating system used,
  • URL of the previously visited website,
  • Amount of data sent.

This data will be saved exclusively for technical reasons and will at no point in time be allocated to a certain person.

Data entered by you

In order for you to be able to use all of the advantages of pixolus, you will need to register. For this purpose you must enter your e-mail address as well as a password. This data is necessary in order to be able to provide you with an individual user area via the portal. pixolus also requires this data, and possibly further data, in order to be able to respond to wishes, questions and any criticism.

Thereupon pixolus will provide you with an individual user area for the display, graphical processing and management of measured data (for example of energy meters, which are also referred to as electricity meters). In detail, the portal allows:

  • The upload of data from the app, which especially comprises the identified numeral meter readings, the photographs taken of the energy meters and, apart from the meta data present on each photograph, also additional information such as if the user has manually corrected the automatically collected meter reading.
  • The manual input / the manual upload of the aforementioned information.
  • The processing of data, especially various graphic displays, evaluations and filters pursuant to predetermined criteria, …
  • For its own purposes pixolus anonymizes photographs by removing any personal reference and then uses such photos for purposes of quality assurance. This especially serves the purpose of improving recognition accuracy and limiting any difficulties in the automatic recognition of meter readings.

Naturally, you alone decide which data you choose to share with us in the portal or via the app and how this data is then to be used. pixolus has committed itself to this pursuant to the principle of data minimization. If you choose not to give certain information to pixolus, you may, however, not be able to use our services to the full extent.

Newsletter

pixolus offers you a free-of-charge newsletter service. By means of the newsletter, pixolus informs you about energy-saving topics as well as about the participation in surveys in order to draw your attention to new products or services, or in order to provide you with information, which may be of interest to you. Furthermore, we will be informing you about offers and products of our cooperating partners in the newsletter.

You can cancel the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains information concerning how the newsletter can be cancelled with future effect.

Transfer of data

In certain cases pixolus will transfer your personal data and/or collect personal data about you from third parties. In general, such a transfer of your personal data will only take place without your prior expressed consent in the following cases:

  • If it becomes necessary in order to be able to use our services; this especially concerns those cases, in which the nature of our services also lies in the exchange of data with third parties upon your request.
  • On occasion, in order to provide the services, we may be dependent on contractually affiliated external companies and external service providers, for example in the areas of hosting or the implementation of marketing measures. In such cases information will be transferred to these companies or to individual persons, enabling them to further process the information. These corresponding external service providers are carefully chosen by us, tied to us by means of a legal contract and are regularly examined. During each transfer of personal data to third parties in the aforementioned scope, pixolus shall take care that this takes place in accordance with this privacy statement and the relevant data protection laws.
  • In individual cases, e.g. on the basis of a court order, government authorities could access data of pixolus. In such cases pixolus will make its best efforts, also in its own interest, to defend your rights and to simultaneously act in a legal manner.

Cookies

pixolus uses cookies in order to offer you an extensive functional range and to make the use of our websites more comfortable. "Cookies" are small files, which can be saved on your computer by means of your internet browser. If you do not want "cookies" to be used, you can prevent your internet browser from saving "cookies" on your computer by adjusting the settings accordingly. Please note that the functional ability and the functional range of our offer could be limited in doing so.

Deletion of your data

If you delete your user account on the profile, your profile will be completely and definitively deleted. If data must be saved for legal reasons, it will be blocked. The data will then no longer be available for further use.

Right of information and rectification
